What to Expect
Welcome to First Stop Medicals Ltd, where we specialize in medical examinations for Taxi and HGV drivers. Here's what you can expect during your visit.
Arrival and Reception
Working Hours (9 AM - 5:30 PM): Upon arrival, you will be greeted warmly by our receptionist.
Outside Working Hours: The doctor will contact you directly and meet with you.
Check-In Process
Photographic ID: The doctor will verify your ID.
- Payment: Please be prepared to pay any outstanding balance for your medical examination. (Note: No change is given.)
Waiting Room
Assessment Form: You will be guided on how to complete the personal details section of your form.
Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and other refreshments while you wait for your appointment.
Completion
Form Signing: If no issues are identified, the doctor will sign off your form and return it to you.
Post-Appointment: Complete your application with the relevant council and/or DVLA and send the completed form to them.
Medical Examination
Clinic Room: The doctor will invite you in for the medical examination.
Eye Test: Performed according to DVLA requirements.
Health Questions: Be ready to discuss your current medications and any relevant hospital documentation.
Blood Pressure: A blood pressure exam will be conducted.
If You Do Not Meet DVLA Requirements
If for any reason you do not meet the requirements set out by the DVLA and do not pass the medical, we will advise you on the necessary steps to take in your individual situation and how best to proceed.
